I was supposed to be scheduled for jury service in Boston later this month. I received a card canceling my service, but I had some confusion about it because I switched days at the last minute.

Bottom line, I wanted to be sure I didn’t need to show up.

Problem is, the Massachusetts Office of the Jury Commissioner only publishes an 800 number that only accepts calls from within Massachusetts! This is a huge problem for people like me, who only have an out-of-state cell phone.

So I did a little digging and found the local number. If you have jury duty in Massachusetts and an out-of-state cell phone, call:

The good news is that my jury service was cancelled, so I don’t have to wake up early on Friday.
