BTP Supports New Orleans, Opposes Democratic Corruption

Because of a quirk in the way Louisiana election law works, there's still one more Congressional race down there to be decided in a run-off on December 9.

This one is unique because it actually pits two Democrats. I typically don't get involved in Democratic primaries, but when one of the candidates is Rep. William Jefferson, a crooked politician sullying our party's good name, I'm not going to sit that one out.

The simplest way you can make a difference in the campaign right now is by making a contribution to Karen Carter's campaign. Jefferson has used the trappings of incumbency to build a solid, but not insurmountable cash-on-hand advantage and today - this very minute - regular folks like you and me can be the difference between change and more of Jefferson's dirty politics.

Click here to make a secure contribution to Karen Carter's campaign to defeat corruption within the Democratic Party. Time is running out and she'll put your money to work right away.

Let me make it easy for you. Here are two reasons you need to donate immediately.

1. Because federal agents found $90,000 of crooked money in his freezer. You know, next to the peas.

2. Because when the flood drowned the city of New Orleans, Karen Carter found any TV camera she could and asked for two things: buses and gas to get those people out. On the same day, William Jefferson tied up 2 Humvees and an helicopter to make sure his house was OK.

You can also just get started with your contribution by entering an amount below.

Karen Carter (LA-02) $

Thank you in advance for taking action today.

This is such a no brainer. If the democrats want any chance at the high ground, they need to take Jefferson down. The man STILL hasn't managed to give an explanation for why the money was in his freezer without everyone in the audience bursting out in laughter before he's done.

Thanks to all who have donated.

Adam's right. This is really about Democrats standing up for the right thing here. Our country is too important to let some vague rule of incumbency get in the way.
